Loudon Times-Mirror: Washington Redskins host 4th & Life High School Football Forum

Park View High School football players were among more than 400 people in attendance for the Washington Redskins 4th & Life High School Football Forum, held Oct. 12 at FedEx Field in Landover, Md. The forum focused on preparing high school student-athletes for life after football.

The 4th & Life High School Football Forum, emceed by Redskins alumnus Rick "Doc" Walker, focused on preparing high school student-athletes for life after football.

Washington Redskins players Houston Bates, Alfred Morris, Tress Way and Darrel Young touched on a variety of topics such as coping with peer pressure, staying healthy and planning for their academic and athletic futures.

Following a group panel discussion, student-athletes divided into their respective grades to dive deeper into topics relative to their age. The content and program design were created in partnership with Junior Achievement of Greater Washington.

Breakout sessions featured a representative from Coca-Cola, an area business professional and a current Redskins player.

Along with Park View, players from Archbishop Carroll, Ballou, Frederick Douglass, Gwynn Park, Largo, Lee and Potomac high schools attended the forum.
